MEMO: To all AMPED - Emerging Leaders in Schools Parents

The Emerging Leaders in Schools Program will soon be undertaken by your son or daughter. This workshop is designed to develop leadership skills with younger people.

We thought it would be opportune to take a few moments to briefly explain the process prior to your child attending the program. For students beginning to contemplate the journey towards leadership roles in the school, community, in business or in politics, the workshop will stimulate their understanding and sense of the opportunities available. It will help them recognise that they can and should do more, can or should bear more of the leadership responsibility, can and should be treated as equals, can and should be helping determine the quality of life for all people.

The workshop will provide a challenging, theatrical, entertaining, confronting and ultimately rewarding insight into just how far young men and women can go and what they need to look out for on the way!

It will help them to develop a positive albeit realistic perspective on the world of work and to focus on career choices that match their personal value system.

The intended outcomes:

• Advanced skills in visionary leadership
• Heightened self-awareness with a truer sense of themselves, their dreams, goals, aspirations and how to fulfil them
• A desire to know more based on enhanced curiosity
• A higher level of reflection - the ability to broadly conceptualise from emerging patterns of interconnectedness
• An appreciation of process thinking - the ability to think through a concept to an actionable plan
• A greater understanding of responsibility, along with a sense of pride and purpose as the catalyst for positive and exciting change
• A grasp of techniques and ideas they can use all their lives as well as share with family and friends

Our program strives to encourage them to rise to every challenge within the school and throughout the broader community.

The facilitators of the program are extremely experienced Australian Business and Community Leaders who provide their time and knowledge to young men and women in Australian schools and businesses to teach the exceptional qualities of leadership. We have no doubt the program will be thought provoking and inspiring and we look forward to working with your child in developing their leadership even further.
